Perhaps you have heard of the #MeToo phenomena. Many women are coming forward and maintaining that they have been the victims of sexual harassment. This is occurring in many places throughout the world, we hear about the celebrities but there are less famous people being accused, as well. The Harvey Weinstein scandal has touched off a firestorm of allegations about men in prominent positions.
What can organizations learn from the #MeToo movement? Does your organization have a policy on harassment? Has the board, management and employees been trained on what is considered to be harassment? Does your policy include the process for anyone to make a complaint? Strong organizations learn from the mistakes of others and don’t need to make the mistakes themselves.
