Does Your Board Understand Their Role?

I am still talking about how to deal with differing opinions at the board room table. I would like to believe that if all of the information was available, that board members would be able and willing to make the best decision. I would like to believe that no board member overlooks facts in making a decision. Board members have a responsibility to do what is right for the organization.

Our neighbours to the south continue to show us what bad governance looks like. The republicans and democrats have a joint responsibility to do what is best for the USA – however what they appear to be doing is only what appears to be best for their own party. The values of the parties do not always seem to align with the values of the citizens. Your board can use this example to know what they should be doing.
