We recently attended the Institute for Performance and Learning Conference and Trade Show in Toronto.
This was quite a big commitment as we had to drive up and back from Halifax, because we had a truckload of stuff. We were taking copies of all our books as well as signs, racks, chairs etc…
We were hoping to sell a bunch of books and we did not. We gave away brochures about our books and our workshops as well as rack cards about governance courses.
Always hard to tell if a trade show is worth the time and trouble right away. We may yet hear from a contact that we made at the show that will make it all worthwhile.
In the meantime I am reminded of what I always say – which is – “It does not matter what you want to sell. It only matters what the market wants to buy.”
