Walking on a railway would seem to be a bad idea – evident without the sign.
I spend a lot of time talking about governance and I do feel that most things are governance issues.
This sign would be no exception. I suspect the sign is there so that those who are responsible for this land can claim that people were warned about walking on the railway and this reduces their liability.
I talk about the duty of care – and if a person is warned about a dangerous activity and goes ahead with the activity anyway, then they are the ones being negligent. The land owner has warned people and therefore have demonstrated that they are being prudent.
Here is another sign. If you ignore this one, you are not just negligent you are likely breaking the law by being somewhere that you are not allowed to be.
Are there any signs that you would like to post?
