Non-Profits: Time to take stock of where the organization is this year

September is the “back to school month”. For many people September feels like the start of a new year, more so than January which is in the middle of the winter. September is a time to get back into a routine and take stock of where you are.

For a non-profit organization with a March year-end, the end of September will be the six month mark on the fiscal year.

Take a look at the annual section of your strategic plan and see what is left to do in 2017 and make some detailed plans.

This is a milestone – halfway through your fiscal year will you be halfway to achieving those annual goals.

The board meetings that are occurring in the fall of the year should be focusing on achieving the goals that were agreed on when the strategic planning was done.
