Each organization should have a procedure for onboarding the new directors who were elected at the AGM. It is a wonderful plan to have a checklist of the items that a new board member needs to do, such as signing annual confirmations about conflict of interest and confidentiality. A review of other important policies, discussion about the meeting schedules and upcoming events should also be covered.
Some groups will give new members copies of prior meeting minutes, the strategic plan and maybe a policy manual. Maybe your group has a video or two that the new board members should watch. The onboarding process will go much better if there is some thought put into the process before the new board members show up.
