Last weekend I started reviewing the first of the many personal tax returns that I will see this spring.
Like many first things there is a sense of excitement around the start of tax season.
I will be meeting with many clients who I only see this time of year. For some of them I have been preparing their returns for decades.
The circle of life is apparent with financial information as it is in other areas. I have seen my clients reproduce, put their children through university and become grand parents. Some of my clients children have become clients.
My business clients have started businesses, prospered and sold the businesses.
Every tax return tells a story, including changes to marital status, new jobs, starting pensions, new dependents, types of income earned in the year, donations made and medical expenses.
I look forward to seeing what kind of a year my clients have had.
