My clients have not used the educator’s credit and the home accessibility credit yet in 2016. So maybe I need to talk more about them. What are these credits?
The educator’s credit is a limit of $1000 and covers expenses incurred by a teacher and not reimbursed by their employer. You need receipts and may be required to provide a letter from your employer.
The home accessibility credit has a limit of $10,000 for taxpayers who are over 65 years of age and spend money on making their home more accessible. We are talking about ramps and elevators, bathroom remodeling etc. So spread the word – we have credits and people need to use them.
