We all go to meetings. We don’t all feel our time has been well spent at a meeting, however. Wouldn’t it be fun to ask the participants at the end of each meeting to list what was accomplished? Bonus points for if they think the whole agenda was an accomplishment.
If the meeting had a goal (which it should) then at the end of the meeting we are able to figure out if the goal was achieved. Asking for feedback about achieving meeting goals is a good first step to effective meetings. If we monitor whether or not goals are being achieved then we will be on the way to achieving more of our goals. As we all know, that what gets monitored, gets done.
