Who is Your Privacy Officer? Canada 150 Recommendation #98

Thursday’s= Governance

Every business is required to have a privacy officer. This person is the one to whom complaints will be referred.

The type of complaints that a privacy officer gets involve the perception that someone has divulged confidential information to a person or group who is not entitled to receive this information.

The privacy officer also should make sure that there are policies in place to make sure that everyone in the organization knows what the policies around privacy and confidentiality refer to.
