With many Annual General Meetings (AGM) scheduled in the next couple of months – now would be an excellent time to work on your onboarding package. What is that you ask? Well this is the information that you use to recruit new members, be they board members or committee members.
What I suggest is that you come up with the answers to the questions that potential board members will be asking. For example:
What does the organization stand for and what it is attempting to accomplish?
What is the financial status of the organization?
What is the time commitment expected from members?
Are there any hurdles that a board member will need to leap over, such as having a criminal records check?
If you put a package together, then you will have a consistent approach to your recruiting, with hopefully everyone who is trying to capture a new board member using the same tools.
